Summary of the Spiritist doctrine, by Florent Loth, d’Amiens[1]

This book, that we were only able to announce in our last number, is a summary of the most essential principles of the Spiritist doctrine; it consists mainly of textual quotations borrowed from fundamental works, and of examples taken from Heaven and Hell, capable of giving a more just, more rational, more striking idea, about the consequences of the way in which one uses life, and above all more in conformity with the justice of God than the doctrine of the eternal flames. The author does not make his book a matter of self-esteem or interest; a fervent and devoted Spiritist, he published it with a view to mostly propagate the doctrine in the countryside of his department; the modesty of his views does not prevent this little book from being very useful elsewhere.

Here is the report that the Journal d'Amiens gave of this pamphlet on December 29th, 1867. This is followed by a letter about this review, from Mr. Loth to the author of the article, that the same newspaper published in its January 17th issue.
